Verde

Verde Restaurant & Bar

The look: This intimate first floor lounge bar with a sister restaurant in Sydney’s‘Little Italy’ is all about understated cool. Glamorous touches like warm timber floors, chocolate leather ottomans and lounges are charmingly comfortable.
The soundtrack: No live music yet but there is a cool range of soulful and chill out tunes from international DJs.
Signature drink: The Saffron Martini, which is a Verde original. This spicy Italian take on a classic martini is a mix of Plymouth gin and Strega liqueur, stirred with saffron ($16).
Bar snacks: A delectable range of Italian tapas style dishes. Mix and match the Grilled Octopus ($12.50), Potato and Parsley Parmigiano Fritters ($9) and the Traditional Grilled Italian Sausage with Lemon ($10). Bellissimo!
Best for: Hanging out with small groups of friends for pre- or post-dinner drinks.
Wow factor: The two-story heritage listed building itself. This Victorian “Italianate” building has been restored to maintain its natural charm, with some lush modern interior touches.
If this bar were an animal it would be: A cute and tipsy Italian mouse (the bar is seriously well-stocked!).
