The Clock Hotel
The look: This stylishly comfortable, central Sydney institution is decorated with eleven clocks displaying times from cities world-wide and a unique exterior clock tower. There are four bars to explore on three levels.
The soundtrack: A relaxed, easy listening vibe.
Signature drink: The Clock Martini ($15.50) is a delicious mix of Bombay Sapphire gin, raspberry and vanilla liquor shaken with fresh lime, cranberry juice and apple.
The bar snacks: The braised lamb shank pie ($22) is a dramatic choice for carnivores (it’s got a bone sticking out of the pie top!). Sharing? Try the tapas tasting plate ($18, for two) with peri-peri spicy chicken wings and arancini balls.
Best for: This is just a fantastic staple Sydney pub to have in your blackberry.
Wow factor: Having a refreshing drink with good friends on the balcony at sunset.
If this bar were an animal it would be: Tic, toc … The white rabbit from Alice and Wonderland – sleek, time conscious and surrounded by quirky friends.
