Docks Hotel

Docks Hotel

The look outside: think nautical – its breezy decks are great for checking out the people parade.
The look inside: classier. Lots of glass, retro lighting, lime-green poufs and aubergine banquettes. You can shoot some pool or cuddle up in a leather booth.
Dress code: whatever floats your boat. It’s the kind of place that holds swimsuit competitions – so casual all the way.
Who’s hanging out there: around lunchtime, you’ll find everyone from tourists to tradies to families. At night, expect a young party crowd.
Feed and water me:
the bar goes on forever, so you’ll be spoilt for choice. Food-wise, this isn’t cheap grub – mains are $20-plus. Budgetwatchers should try $10 Tuesdays for steak, fish, chicken or pasta.
The soundtrack: top 40; R&B on Saturday nights.
The wow factor: the view of Sydney’s cityscape, lit up at night.
If this bar was an animal: it would be a rhino, blindly running towards its prey. Hmm, did someone say pick-up joint?
