Red Vault
The look: Cylindrical cushions, cube ottomans, rectangular
banquettes - this bar is big on geometric furnishings but keeps comfort
squarely in focus. As the name suggests, there is a Red Vault which provides a
very secure function space, whilst the main room is divided by a towering,
transparent wine library.
To drink: Hope you like wine. There are several
hundred on offer, including a wide range of regions, vintages and varietals.
Drinks are by the glass or bottle, from magnum to piccolo. But you aren’t
limited to reds or whites; cocktails, beers and spirits also make the list.
To
eat: Snacks are chosen with wine in mind and, not surprisingly, the cheese
selection stands out. Try a little St Agur ($6.50), Manchego ($6.50), Asiago
($5.50) or Cheddar ($6.50) served with quince paste and crackers.
The crowd:
Tend to be beyond the age where Red Bull shooters sound like fun.
Best for:
Cellar dwellers and anyone who enjoys being spoiled for choice.
