Chill On
The look: Winter wonderland. The ground level is basically a
giant freezer, containing some 30 tonnes of ice, chilled to a frosty -11°C and
packed with hefty ice sculptures. Even the bar, seating and glasses are made
from frozen H2O.
To drink: Seriously frigid cocktails like the Chilly Billy and
Glacier Express. Or warm up with icy Jägermeister shots. And breaking the
glassware is actively encouraged.
Dress code: Alpine chic. Parkas and uggs are
provided to keep you comfortable in the subzero temps but it still probably
isn’t the place to model your new miniskirt.
But baby, it’s cold inside:
Queenslanders and anyone else who can’t take the big chill should head upstairs
to the warmer climes of the Funk Bar which offers an extended drink selection.
The soundtrack: You’d expect Sigur Ros, Bjork, ABBA and maybe, snigger, Snow
Patrol but it’s actually drum ‘n bass on Saturdays.
Best for: functions with a
difference, homesick Scandinavians, kids. Yep, during 12pm – 6pm you can bring
the tykes too. Cover charge applies.
