The look: split personality – inside the cool monochromes are offset by a long orange banquette; outside there’s an urban olive grove with a large beer balcony and park bench booths.
The crowd: everyone from Swinburne uni babes and blokes to those well past wearing evening shorts.
To drink: a select range of wines by the glass (many more by the bottle); local and Euro beers; classic cocktails.
Peckish? with the backup of a full restaurant kitchen the bar snacks exhibit bistro flair. Eats range from gourmet pizza, and rib-eye and chips, to roast quail, chermoula mussels and goat’s cheese risotto.
Best feature: the outdoor bar, of course – saves a trip inside.
Runner-up feature: the rooftop views at dusk.
Bar soundtrack: upbeat but loungey. On Sundays, the deck features a Mediterranean play list, much like that of Buddha Bar.
Best for: knocking off work early and drinking in the afternoon sun; hot dates on balmy nights; group catch up sessions.
In a word: versatile.
