Shopping Secrets Pty Ltd is committed to protecting the environment and to the responsible use of natural resources. As a book publisher, with paper a core part of our business, we are concerned about the future of the world’s remaining Endangered Forests and the environmental impacts of paper production. We are committed to implementing policies that will support the preservation of Endangered Forests globally and advance best practices within the book and paper industries.

The US publishing industry recently attempted to measure its environmental impact with the view to minimizing it. The report called the Environmental Trends and Climate Impacts: Findings from the US Book Industry estimated that each book sold in the US accounted for 8.85 pounds of emissions. The bulk of this, approximately 63%, was from the cutting down of trees for the creation of paper. Minimising the use of paper, sourcing paper only from sustainable forests and planting more trees in place of those used and the three key ways to counter the impact of the industry.

In recognition of the need to preserve natural resources and protect Endangered Forests, we also commit to encourage other publishers and suppliers to develop similar strategies and policies.

Since the number one thing that any publisher to minimize their impact on the environment is to use less paper. The Deck of Secrets series is one of the most paper efficient published products on the market. We only send you to 52 of the best places and then we give you enough information to make your own decisions and discover great new places. Quality content in a manageable quantity.
